Ah beautiful one day … foggy the next

Well after yesterday I was expecting a nice day as I woke. Unfortunately it didn’t really start out like that. You see, there was a mist or was it a fog? Either way it was limiting visibility to about 5 or 600 metres. Not the best for cycling as the fog means cold. So left it a few hours to let the warmth build and the sun to burn the fog off ….. ok … it was a long wait!!

Eventually got out around 11 but it was a little cool still but visibility had certainly improved … could see about 1.5km’s now… Not sure if it is my lack of riding or the gearing (let us calling the gearing for now ok … ) but the legs got a little lactic today as I rode up a few of the rises (not hills) so me thinks the legs are needing some adjustment to this sort of activity. Might have to drop back to a ride every 2 days … but when the sun is out one should make the most of it I think.

In general, things are going well. Working most of the day which is always a good thing as that means at least some $$ are coming in the account.

Oh yeah … Got a Red Cross package from Australia yesterday. It contained vital supplies for me to use while here. Arm Warmers and my wind vest!!!!!

The sun has returned …

After a week of sunshine we have had a week of cool weather with some rain and lots of wind. Didn’t get out the bike as result for much of the week. When I did go out my arms nearly dropped off with the cold. But it wasn’t too bad really, after all you can’t complain about something you can’t feel can you!!

The shop I bought all my stuff from have been pretty useless regarding the delivery of stuff. The jacket finally came after 2 weeks and they decided to give me a refund when it came to my arm warmers as they didn’t have the right size. Hopefully my stuff will arrive from home in the next few days so that I can keep warm when out riding.

The last ride on Thursday wasn’t too bad. I didn’t suffer too much going up the hills nor did I get lost. The speedo was a worry though. I think the wind was affecting it a bit as it didn’t really work too well. So much for getting wireless. Oh well, we will persist and see how we go with it.

The weather should be pretty good this week according to the weather man so will get out on the bike as much as I can I think. Might even get a tan … hahahahahaha ….

Two days in a row!!!!

Scarey as it sounds, I was actually out on the bike again today. The weather wasn’t as good as it was yesterday but it wasn’t too bad except that damn wind was still there from the west making it just a little cooler.

Basically, I headed out along the same course as I did yesterday, but with the intention of finding a new route around the Kent airport. This I managed to do reasonably successfully but as Bugs Bunny use to say …. “uuuhhhhmmm Think I should have turned right at Alberkirky”. I didn’t exactly get lost as I knew the general direction I was going and the sign I turned at did say say Margate. Mayb it was my sub concious saying get home!! Either way I followed the road into Margate with out too much drama. So I know have a better road to follow around the Kent Airport. All is good in the world.

Maybe on my next ride I will be able to combine all the roads I have taken and do what I meant to do in the first place …

Todays ride … 20kms … I think … must check the speedo just in case ….
