Well this week saw the sun come out and beat down on this small town. Ok it was still cold and a bit windy but it was too bad …. In fact, I have become inspired and have started missing the bike. Not sure if this is because the sun has come out or becuase it will give me something to distract me from my work. Either way it is a good thing. Well it is until you start looking at bikes and the price of them. Although relatively speaking the prices aren’t too bad it is still an interesting experience.
Was going to go off to Leeds Castle this weekend but wole to a windy day and a bit threatening. I think though I will have to just decide I am going and go regardless of the weather as it seemed to improve a little later in the day as you can see from some of the pictures around Margate that I took.
Went to some of the local bike shops but they don’t really do road bikes like we are used to. Their version road bikes are a touring bike with flat bars rather than drop bars. So, off I go to the internet and start looking online for somewhere to buy a bike. Some nice looking bikes and well have found two that I don’t mind just a little warey about the size. But that is fine. Now I have to look at clothing and the sizes are different here. Again the shops aren’t that good for the supply of clothing around here so it is back to the internet. I am off to a shop in Ramsgate this week to check out the bike size and hopefully clothing size. I hope they have the stuff in stock.
Thought about going to London and checking af ew places out but it will cost 22GBP one way for the train … but get this, if I get a return it wll cost me 23GBP. Strange place. Will see what happens when I go to Ramsgate and what they have available. Might get the sister-in-law to send over some of my clothing that is currently stored at her place.
By the way, this is where I am currently living. Not too bad a place considering that it is about 150years old. Have to becareful that I duck going through some of the doorways mind otherwise I will have one hell of a bruise on my forehead.
Anyway, time to go catch up again soon
