What in blazes is going on ….
We received today a little letter from an organisation called TV Licensing. It starts out with the comment ….
Important: Please respond to this letter by 22nd May to avoid your details being passed on to our Enforcement Division for investigation.
Now … as all Australians know, TV is free unless you get Pay TV of course, but in the main you get can bored stiff and feed mindless rubbish from the tv FREE!!!! In the words of John McEnroe … “You can NOT be SERIOUS!!!!” To have to pay for the dribble that passes for television, and let me assure you in Australia you have it good compared to here. In Oz you only have Neighbours and Home and Away once a day during the week … here … try about twice a day on different channels and all week not just Monday to Friday! We would have that here if we paid for the Sky box, but we can’t be bothered as it costs a fortune and you have to go on contract.
To rub salt into the wound … we are advised that if we do not respond by 22nd May, the enforcement division will call us and then request to be paid 1000GBP for non compliance. One of he even funnier things is that they give us the option of paying the black and white licence so we would need to only watch black and white tv! It is a laugh surely. I did note when applying for the licence, that I can get a discount if I was blind … go figure … even the blind have to pay for the licence.
ok … off my soap box for now …
Today has been a day for doing very little. Sent a package off to home … no it isn’t ticking Kim but you never know ….. The weather isn’t crash hot so just been organising all the bills and getting them, sorted out as a new housemate is joining Estee and I tomorrow so get all the bills settled so we can start from scratch tomorrow and split everything three ways from there on.
Other than that today is a day of nothing
