Well, I have received my instructions for the start of the Tour de France. I will be assisting at the Prologue in London on 7th July as the riders go around. Hopefully I will be in a pretty good position to do my tour of duty. It will be fun to be at the start of the Tour and see what is happening.
Estee and I will be staying at easyhotel in Victoria again as it is cheap and the one up the road is apparently all booked out. Damn, it was a better one and it would have meant breakfast before going up to the meeting point.
I will be taking the camera to see if I can get some pictures. They said at the briefing that we shouldn’t do this but I figure if we are on the correct side of the barriers this shouldn’t be an issue as it was a few years ago with the policeman in France. We will see on the day though.
Estee will be walking around checking out the cyclists all day … and bringing me my lunch when I call her on the mobile saying that I am hungry as lunch is not provided on the day.
I was going to do Stage 1 but I want to be at the end of the stage to see the finish so have opted out of that. I was going to be at Maidstone which meant there wasn’t enough time to get across to the finish. Particularly when I don’t have a car to do the mad dash.
