You have to feel sorry for the farmers of the UK. Over the past 6 months there has been several cases of Foot and Mouth Disease around the place. A few years back, it devastated the english farm industry and associated industry.
Now, there is a case of Blue Tongue which has come across from Europe carried by ‘midges’. These apparently have originated from South Africa and so now the farms of the UK are worried about the spread of yet another disease that could cripple the industry.
In Australia, a blue tongue is a lizard which has a good bit on it but in general isn’t too much of a concern.
Thankfully, Australia has a very good protection system to prevent most disease from getting to Australia.
